Some very disturbing issues arise from the episode of P Chidambaram, former distinguished Union Finance and Home Minister, landing in Tihar Jail
If the Prosecution is right and if PC is guilty of corruption and money laundering one must ask why such rich, talented and powerful person resorted to such demeaning acts?
On the other hand, if he is innocent (and so I personally believe) why has an entire government and the ruling party resorted to such despicable act of vendetta against a fellow Indian? Do the men in power not contemplate the possibility of themselves landing in the dock the same way someday?
Either way this episode is a matter of great shame for the whole nation and invites deep introspection of the Indian society.
