I am humbled by the recognition that my suggestions for the Resolution of this dispute as presented several months ago, and reproduced below, stand broadly endorsed by the parties, as reported by the electronic press today.

Staunch Left Liberals may deem this outcome as a defeat by the Muslim side, as failure of the State, as lack of faith in judiciary etc. But realplitik is very real. And resolution of real serious problems warrants pragmatic solution. And this is about the best I can think of.
There is no alternative to a negotiated settlement. I stand by my suggestions - subject to their being tinkered / polished to suit the letter of the law.
May India experience peace and may this nasty politics of religion see its end at this turn.
