When the Home Minister warns CAA to be followed by NRC and to repeat it in Assam
When men involved in fake encounters are awarded Police Medals, and real cop-heroes are defamed and harassed
When the nation is engulfed in distractions from burning issues of economy, unemployment, pollution, falling standards of education and science, and pervading irrationality..
BUT I FEEL A LITTLE REASSURED
When Hindu Indians see the unfairness of these legislations and rise in my support altruistically
When youth overcome propaganda, shed their complacency and take to streets demanding scrapping unfair laws
When distinguished writers, artists, activists, former bureacurats, judges and statesmen stick their neck out and speak up for me
When international agencies and institutions nudge govt of India for course correction
When regional political parties and power allies withdraw support to such legislation
I HOPE THAT WISER COUNSEL SHALL PREVAIL
AND INDIA WILL EMERGE MORE UNIFIED THAN BEFORE
