DON'T DEMONIZE MUSLIMS, FIGHT CORONA SCIENTIFICALLY

AS A REFORMIST AND RATIONALIST I will continue to chide fellow Muslims for their failures, specially for their utter neglect of science. 

However, an impression is being sought to be created that the spurt in Corona affected cases is entirely due to Muslims. Neither is this nor can it be true. 
 
The Corona spread projections made in February show a steep climb in India, bordering tens of thousands. And that is the trend entire world is witnessing. No Jamaat caused the steep hike in the US that has surpassed the Chinese toll. Scientists had forewarned us of this cycle that Corona was slated to follow. 
 
Several communities have been organizing similar gatherings, foolishly. For instance, the Ponkal festival of AP attracted about 1.5 lakh people huddled together without a foot's distancing, including migrants returning from Karnataka, around the same time. Worse, the BJP's celebrations of Shivraj induction in MP, the Yogi Ramnavami gathering, the Yeddyurappa marriage participation, and above all the colossal failure in anticipating and managing the exodus of tens of thousands of migrant labourers from Delhi and other metros arguably caused much. much more damage to the fight against Corona. 
 
Yet the indiscretion of the Tableeghi Jamaat remains reprehensible and condemnable. The second murder doesn't justify the first. Moreover, it doesn't behove of a minority complaining of persecution, to conduct itself in such an irresponsible manner. And that was, is and shall remain my refrain. 
 
In any case, they themselves were the first victims and became agents of death for their own families, neighbourhoods and uninvolved co-travellers. All this largely due to their dislike of science. Indeed, the Jamaat leader is heard saying so in his address. 
 
EVERY SINGLE VIOLATION OF PROTOCOL IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORONA VIRUS MUST BE EQUALLY AND SEVERELY PUNISHED BY THE GOVT.
