Miscellanea [1 April 2020 - 30 June 2020]

 2/4/2020

  • One of my life's missions: Getting #Muslims to willingly do today what they will inevitably be forced to do tomorrow!

9/4/2020

  • If I slept in the 19th century and woke up in May, 2020 I may not tell the difference!

14/4/2020

  • Let us test our sensitivity by thinking up the difficulties of the less fortunate / secure than us, in these difficult times

15/4/2020

  • MUSLIM IRONY
If you serve #Muslims, but not #Islam, you are rejected if you are a Muslim, but adored if you are not.
    Explore why!

19/4/2020

  • फकत नफरत करते हैं भाई
    बुद्धू थोड़े ही हैं

  • Children born now on will talk, meet, walk & behave very differently. Parents: train yourself & your parents to deal with them

  • I used to be more tolerant to irrationality & bigotry.
But if these persist when death is staring wouldn't I lose my patience?

  • LET'S COMPETE

Our civilizational values demand that we treat everyone with fairness. Let's beat the Kuwaitis in the treatment of our minorities.

20/4/2020

  • WORRY a little when YOUR #bigots deride you. Worry a lot when THEIRS begin to admire you!

  • Nothing remains local, neither hate nor love. Let love spread.

  • Even atheists believe that death humbles.
    Its thought sobers us.
But are the bigots restrained even by death?

24/4/2020

  • WHITHER GANDHI'S #HINDUISM?

“What happened to India?” she said, implying that this wasn't the country she knew. "Hinduism is one of the most peaceful religions. Perhaps more than Islam, Christianity and Judaism," says UAE Princess #Hend Faisal Al Qassemi

  • INDIA HAS AN OPPORTUNITY to win all its MINORITIES in one stroke: Be sensitive & fair. These memories will impact - and last long.

  • BLAME-GAME AND HATE
have been characteristic of the weak, the ignorant and the frightened, through most epidemics, historically.

1/5/2020

  • POWER AND DEMOCRACY

Kings, Emirs and other hereditary offices are archaic institutions, inconsistent with individual human aspirations.

But far worse is the concentration of power in one or two hands in democracies. This usually proceeds from the emaciation of institutional mechanisms. As a result it produces cronyism and a hypocrite, corrupt and bigoted society. This, in turn, is most often achieved through religious fanaticism, or fascist ultra-nationalism.

One would much rather be ruled by a trained, cultured and properly groomed king than a powerful ruler enthroned through such a fickle filter as adult-franchise

  • Neither can I be weaned away from my Hindu friends, nor can they ignore the growing
    Hindu aggression

2/5/2020

  • Travel lightly.
    So
    you can
    FLY

  • Yes my immediate problem is the rising bigotry and cynicism amongst the #Hindus.

But my long term concern is the fundamentalism and resistance to change amongst the #Muslims

  • WORTHY GOALS

Great productivity and teamplay at work - without subjugation and subordination

Intense love beyond the sensual limitations

    Compassion beyond all filial bondage

Scientific advances beyond the realm of science fiction

3/5/2020

  • THE DAY AFTER I DIED

    - The government made an entry in the Death Register while the opposition added a number to Corona casualties

    - My pet, the sparrow in the window, my maid.. felt very hungry and ate

    - My relatives made discrete enquiries about my property

    - My personal staff started looking for another job

    - My street, my city, the stock market, my nation, earth and the Cosmos pretty much went about their business without a change

AND "I REALISED" THAT LIFE COULD GO ON WITHOUT ME!

8/5/2020

  • The weak indulge in producing excuses and blaming others; the strong focus finding solutions together. Who must we Indians be?

10/5/2020

  • India now comprises only three castes: the noisy urban, the silent rural, and the voiceless migrant.

  • If you are confident of your potential, you will also have the patience and will forgive fools who don't recognise it

12/5/2020

  • If most Hindus were lynchers/haters, and Muslims idol-breakers/converters, would so many temples, Hindus & Muslims still be here?

13/5/2020

  • Don't stop proposing solutions to life's problems

In the least you will understand their complexities better

  • SAID: A handful of barbarians brutalised our vast innocent majority
UNSAID: Our forefathers had no guts to fight back

  • SAID: They eloped with our sisters!
UNSAID: Our sisters were ready to elope with them.

19/5/2020

  • UNWRITTEN "WE DON'T WANT YOU"

Watching the clear and visible "we don't want you" treatment of our #migrating working brethren, I am reminded of the Bangladeshi citizens on the international border several years ago.

As neither country wanted them in, they were confined at or near the No-man's Land for a length of time

Poverty and suffering earn you no takers, indeed

Wish the CAA evangelists had realised that persecution comes in many names, religion being just one

22/5/2020

  • The biggest difference between #Bangladesh & #Pakistan is BD's control of population, & women's empowerment. Progress must follow

24/5/2020

  • #ZAKAWT AND QURBANI

Fabulous instruments for socio-economic amelioration of #Muslims

The essence of Zakawt has been to reach out to those that won't ask, and obviously in a manner that doesn't hurt the dignity of the recipients. Like in many other areas of life, and for many other people, showmanship - and sometimes commercial motives - have overtaken some Muslims. But the dedicated giver follows the dictum. [Reproduced from a friendly thread]

On an aside I have often wondered the terrific good it will do to Muslims if Zakawt and Qurbani [Eidul-zuha] are channelized professionally, and institutionalized, to address the elimination of poverty at least amongst the Muslims.

  • True giving is the one that awaits no reward bigger than the joy of giving and of making a difference.

29/5/2020

  • Our policies forced them into city slums, then out on roads & trains & back to their unwilling villages.
    Oh! Us the middle class!

30/5/2020

  • The widespread protests in US over George Floyd's death show not only the organisation by the Black but the support by the White.

1/6/2020

  • NATIONAL INTEGRATION
does not come from lecturing to minorities.
You need to stick your neck out for their just causes

3/6/2020

  • Isn't the #US rapidly becoming a third-world country with associated ills like discrimination, lawlessness, #violence?

  • Millions perished in Jew-Christian-Muslim-Hindu & inter-caste massacres. Nationalism followed with wars worldwide.

6/6/2020

  • Step aside scientists; shutdown labs and hospitals. Clergy is moving in. Temples & mosques are taking charge - to send us to God!

  • India will become truly great when Hindus of India will rise for victims like Akhlaque and Pehlu.
    Humanism is the best patriotism.

7/6/2020

  • Avoid doing privately what you can't own publicly. There is nothing private. Today's private is tomorrow's public knowledge

10/6/2020

  • Those that display 'bravery' by subjugating the vulnerable, must be deeply frightened within. What a painful, pitiable existence!

17/6/2020

  • I am surprised, and angry, that the world has been going on though I did not read a single newspaper in over a month!

20/6/20

  • Alright, nobody encroached anybody.
    But there ARE casualties

    This doesn't quite match

  •  It is easy to enslave people when you convince them that they own some other people!

  •  Politicians are not stupid; they just appear so, because you confuse your priorities as theirs as well
